What Is CPR? cardiopulmonary resuscitation
(say: kar-dee-o-pul-muh-nair-ee rih-suh-sih-tay-shun)
Cardio means "of the heart" and pulmonary means "of the lungs." Resuscitation is a medical word that means "to revive" — or bring back to life. Sometimes CPR can help a person who has stopped breathing, and whose heart may have stopped beating, to stay alive.
Who is required to be CPR trained?
People who handle emergencies — such as police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, and nurses — are all trained to do CPR.
Most Healthcare and Childcare providers are required to keep a CPR certification that must be renewed every two years.
What this means for aspiring CPR Instructors:
The career outlook for CPR instructors is wide open and can be extremely lucrative. This is due to the mandatory CPR certification requirement nationwide for ALL healthcare providers, child care, senior care providers, and emergency care providers. NOTE: MOST PROFESSIONALS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE (BLS) CPR certification which stands for Basic Life Support and covers Adult, child, infant and AED. This is the certification you will be able to offer as well as several other disciplines (see below).
You can choose to work independently and open a CPR training business, or work as an instructor for a more established CPR training center, whichever career path you choose, it is sure to be an exciting and rewarding one.
How to "Open a CPR Training Center"
After the 2 Day Instructor Course, you will become a Certified CPR (bls) Instructor and can then register and file the proper legal paperwork at your Secretary of State's office, (click here for NC Secretary of State) and create your own business name, corporation etc. More information is given regarding this during your first day of class.
Opening a Health & Safety Training Center is your first step to financial freedom and a rewarding career helping others. We look forward to helping you on your journey!
